Kat
Katelyn Myrskog, also known as Kat, was born and raised in Toronto and currently lives in Ottawa. She is a recent Carleton University Communication and Media Studies graduate who has dreams of being a news broadcaster which stems from her involvement in school papers, plays and her love for video production. Myrskog has been involved in the Toronto Finnish community for 20 years. Kat has performed vocally at Agricola Church for 20 years and even singing at Casa Loma for Finland’s 100th year of Independence in 2017. In 2019, Myrskog also did freelance work with Kanadan Sanomat Vapaa Sana, Toronto’s Finnish Newspaper. Myrskog loves music and enjoys writing songs, playing the piano and is also a gifted artist curtesy of her family made up of artists. She loves animals, cooking, trying new restaurants, piña coladas, getting caught in the rain and all that jazz.
Sophia
Sophia de Guzman is a third-year journalism student at Ryerson University. Thus far in her career, she has contributed to publications both on and off-campus, as well as her campus radio. She loves to read and tell stories that take aspects of our everyday lives and consider them in a whole new light. From the ways that our neighborhoods are set up to strange online fads, Sophia hopes to find stories relevant and interesting to young people to challenge both her and her peers’ thinking.
Mehtab
Mehtab Brar is a filmmaker and comedian based out of Calgary, Alberta. He is currently pursuing a Political Science degree at the University of Calgary, and makes Tiktoks for his 26k followers. When he's not making viral videos, he is training as a second degree black belt, and a champion in Hapkido. He broke his nose twice (he was blindfolded both times) and is currently producing his first feature length film! He loves video games, even though he is bad at all of them, but he is pretty good at playing Duck, Duck, Goose. He has performed stand-up comedy in front of numerous sold-out crowds, he also hosts a comedy/educational podcast series called "The BrarCast."
Rea
Reatopia (aka Rea) is a multidisciplinary artist, troublemaker and live streamer. Her themes often touch on navigating IRL vs URL identity and the wonderment of intimacy bred through vulnerability. Performance art, zines, immersive installation and net art are a few of her favourite mediums. Her art practice has been supported by grants from the Canada Council for the Arts and Ontario Arts Council. Presently she is a chronically online cusper, retro toy collector and cancon gem connoisseur.
Sydney
Sydney van Delft is an actor, producer, and podcaster from Toronto. She has appeared in shows such as “Falling Water”, “Reign”, and “Degrassi”, as well as in various feature films. She has produced multiple award-winning short films and was chosen by the Canadian Media Producer’s Association to attend the Berlinale Film Festival as an emerging producer in 2020 for her film “Dystonia”, which she co-produced and starred in. Sydney is also the host and producer of a business and tech-related podcast.
Jalen
Jalen Rose is an enthusiastic, self-driven, collaborative, motivating, humorous person with a diverse professional background in Journalism. His knowledge was obtained through school and the working world, his attention lies primarily in athletics through his sporty background. Jalen's passion is fueled by hunger, determination, dedication, work ethic, and courage to achieve greatness in journalism.
